Hey friend!

Glad to be back. I’m going to write about all the amazing things that have happened. I got to share my testimonies forreaallll. But that’s for another day. Let’s focus on this Love thing. So were in part II of the series, you accepted Jesus Christ as your lord and savior… now what?

You Did That For Me Jesus?

So lets talk about LOVE. noun: a feeling of strong or constant affection for a person. That’s the definition I found. But when I think about Jesus, there has to be another definition to describe his love because this one is kind of weak. Lets look at it again but with another form of love…

Agape: is selfless, sacrificial, unconditional love, the highest of the four types of love. If you want to know the 4 types, click here.

But man. The love of Christ is for real. It’s serious. I mean it’s somewhat hard to put into words honestly. Because when I think about the Old Testament, and what these people had to do in order to be right with God? Lawdd!! And even yet, their sacrifices were never enough. God don’t like ugly (sin). But here came the one whom left all he had in heaven. All the glory he had. Things we could never imagine, to ultimately live like a peasant and then die to form a bond between the father and us. Let’s be real, some of us can’t even help our brothers and sisters or be a servant to others. Talk about now dying for another. Man, that alone is deep.

I think God was at his last lol. I think He was like someone better come get these people before I get them! Are you ready? Because I’m about to lose it!!!!! Jesus was like, Yo dad, I gotchu! Are you willing to leave all your glory to become human? Yes. Are you ready to deal with a perverse and corrupted generation? Yes. Are you ready to do what I want you to do even if they don’t agree? Yes. Are you wiling to DIE for the same people who will ridicule you, beat you, spit on you, lie upon you, tarnish your name, all so that they can be sons and daughters like you? If it be your will father. Yes, I will go. He was obedient, even till death.

Obviously I’m paraphrasing here but c’mon. This man, died for the SAME people who put him on a cross. He helped people like you and I that were disobedient, arrogant, condemning, lying people with patience! Could you do that? I sure couldn’t!  I’m trying to put into words how great, deep and meaningful this love is but it’s hard. He did what no man would ever be willing or capable of doing. Just so you could have a relationship with the father. So YOU could have direct access to the creator himself? Isn’t that amazing? Sacrifices got to be made in God’s world. Sacrafices before Christ just wasn’t enough.

I think I owe him my life. He laid his own life down, so I could be a renewed person. He gave me life, because before I knew him I was dead. I was a vessel gleaming with the very thing God can’t stand, sin. I got a chance to live again. To love again. To see my life with purpose. I think I owe it to him, to let him be lord over my life.

His Love is Everlasting

People will try to condemn you for your sin. You may even condemn yourself for your sin. Hello! You have flesh; of course you are going to sin. You thought God didn’t factor that in? You think he expects you to be perfect? You ain’t Jesus ok. Let’s get that straight. If you are aware that you have sinned, ask for forgiveness. It’s not rocket science. We need to stop over complicating Christ’s love. You don’t need to jump over hurdles for God to forgive you. Or rituals and sacrifices for him to see you are sorry. It’s new and fresh daily.

Lamentations 3:21-23

21 Yet I still dare to hope
when I remember this:

22 The faithful love of the Lord never ends![a]
His mercies never cease.
23 Great is his faithfulness;
his mercies begin afresh each morning.

Just because you have been made new in Christ, does not mean you will be perfect. In fact, now the enemy wants to play with you more, and tempt you more since you have a made a great commitment. But be assured, God is not mad at you. No matter how many times we mess up, he does not stay mad. He cares for you dearly. I mean dearly. You could do the same thing over and over, and his love will never cease. But there is a catch, at some point, especially if conviction is involved; you have to turn away from that sin in which you commit often.

Romans 2:4 says:

Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?

He is kind, patient and loving to us, so we can change whatever ways don’t glorify him and the sacrifice he has made. This is another reason why people and objects can’t be our God. People love you one day, you mess up, they hate you the next. People generally are not patient and don’t want to sacrifice if it means inconvenience (me sometimes).  We can’t make gods out of objects, because, they can’t talk back lol. So this is the whole point of our walk, to gain God like qualities. To deny ourselves of our selfish ways to become more like him. Trust me, it’s not easy to forgive someone who has done you wrong. Or be patient with people who don’t see the bigger picture. That’s why we call on him for strength. This is why his love is everlasting. It (Holy Spirit conducts all of this) teaches us to be more like him, daily.

Nothing Can Separate His Love From You

Romans 8:38-39 says:

38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[b] neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Nothing upon nothing will ever take God’s love away from you. I don’t care what depression says. I don’t care what your church told you. I don’t care what people tell you. God will never stop loving you. He is after your heart. He is after you. Every single day. He has a love that no other love could ever match up to. If your environment tells you otherwise, it’s a lie. A lot of people go through terrible things in life. Imagine it. Horrible atrocities. I have a few friends that have been through some rough times. But when you ask them to look back, they will always say God’s hand was upon them. If you are alive and breathing, no matter what you have been through, God’s hand is upon you.

He has known you since you were in your mother’s womb. He has knitted you so perfectly, the very most delicate parts of you he has woven together. He knows you. He knows what you’ve been through and what you are going through. He never left. His love is still there. If you have a pulse, you have a purpose. God cries when you cry. (Then Jesus Wept John 11:35)

He is joyful when you have joy. His heart breaks when you are broken. He feels you. He needed to feel his people again. Interact with us. Feel our pain and struggle. That’s one of the reasons he sent Jesus. To feel us again, be close and connected with us. Thank you Jesus!!! For whom would I become, If I did not know you? What would have become of me if you had not died for me? The question is something I wonder about. If I did not know you, who would I be? But man, that love is deep. Deeper than words can rely describe. Deeper than the love your parents have for you. Deeper than any ocean, any sin, addiction or problem. This love is open to each and every one of us. Everyone has access to this unconditional love.

If you are a new believer, you have made the right choice. Don’t look back. Trust me, this is better than anything you will find. Once you really understand how amazing God’s love is, what else is there? You can only live for him, honestly. For those who have been in the faith for a while and needed a refresher on how much God loves you, I hope this reached your heart. I hope this rekindles your flame for him. I hope you never forget how much God loves you. Even if you have strayed, he is always for you.

Bye Friend!
