Hay Friend!

Long time no see (but really no read). As you can tell, I’ve been working on the podcast. Trying to build that up a bit, invite more people on etc. It’s an exciting yet busy time so please expect more amazing content!

I wanted to come on here to discuss an important topic that everyone needs to take into serious consideration. Its 5:20 AM, I’ve been up for about an hour just creating an environment for God to come in and intervene. It’s important to PRAY OVER YOUR SPACE. Environment matters. Whether it is your home, DORM ROOM, wherever, make sure you are diligent in your prayers that God cleanse the area of anything not of him. This goes directly to my college students too.

Backstory

I’ve been in my current room since last year August. I went home for the summer so I’ve been gone for about 3 months. I came back, did a little prayer because I know this room has not been opened to other students this summer. (They closed this side of the dorm over summer) So I should be good right? Wrong. My dream was horrendous… Let’s just say I saw what cannibalism looks like. I’ve seen some pretty horrendous things but this for sure is at the top of the list when it comes to nightmares!

What Does This Have to Do With Space?

Well I seem to dream pretty bad any time I come into a new space such as a dorm. This has been the theme for me for 3 years straight!! 3 years in a row on the first day in sleeping in a new space, I’m always have a nightmare (I just became aware of this 30 minutes ago). There was only one time, in the 3 years that I moved, that I slept pleasant. No nightmares. Why? Because, I diligently prayed over the room. Before I went to sleep, I prayed over everything in the room, my roommates and everything you could imagine. I had an intention to let the enemy know that he is not welcome in my space.

Since I reside in the dorm in university, so many things are actively working. Good and bad. Can we talk on some real stuff? Someone once told me that because of the high amount of sin that happens in college dorms, it’s as if spirits are embedded in the dorm. It’s as if they wait for the next individual to come and then continue the mess that was left by the last person, causing people to fall into sin time and time again.

One thing I want to get across that seems to be something that all Christians need to be aware of is the enemy waits for no one. He attacks, no hesitation. It’s important to be prepared. He comes even harder for those who are children of God. My experience can be seen as an intimidation tactic. He will try everything to disturb the peace of God in you. Intimidate you. Make you feel like God has left you. Use your space against you. But hello somebody… IT’S YOUR SPACE. God gave it to you! Do not make the mistake I just made and be lax about covering your space. I assumed since its my room from before, I’m good! I did a lot of praying in this room last semester. But prayer does not last if it’s not exercised often in an environment. HE WAITS FOR NO ONE. Let’s prepare for battle asap!

How To Cover Your Space

1. Be intentional:Know the purpose of your prayers, praise and worship etc. Have the mindset that you are in battle and you will fight and claw to maintain what God has given you already. The enemy loves to intimidate children of God. But you set the tone first. You set the bar, the parameters. God has given you the power if you call on his name, so CALL ON HIS NAME, with focus, determination and purpose.

2. Do whatever you know how:Pray, dance, read scripture. Do what feels right for you. Some even anoint their room with oil. A scripture I suggest reading is Psalm 91. Must be powerful for the devil to try and use this scripture to try and deceive Jesus. Just set the tone! There really is no formula on how to get God to protect you. Do it until you are satisfied.

3. Prayer has to continue: You must pray without ceasing. Cover your space often. Don’t stop because the enemy never stops attacking. You must pray over your space. My mom most nights prays over our house. Strong and loud enough that I can hear her downstairs! Is she crazy? No. Is she trying to show off? No. She is setting the tone. She is letting any unseen thing that this is not their territory. This home is the dwelling place of the living God. She tells God what she wants him to do in our home almost every night. PRAY WITHOUT CEASING.

Side note: To My College Students

This post was more about experience. I just felt I needed to speak about this. It’s so important! One thing I will say in regards to my nightmare is that young men be careful! Just because you see a beautiful woman, don’t just jump in bed with her! People look great on the outside but inside, they might not even be human! You do not know what is living within that person that can destroy your life. Just one encounter. It could take the living God to come down and release you from that bondage. We need to think. Not everything that glitters is gold. This goes for women too. To all my college students, be careful. It’s not meant to scare you but I’m just being real with you all. Until next time.

Bye Friend!
