One thing that I have been working on as of late is getting more organized. I found myself getting so frustrated because I didn’t have a workflow or a system that works for me. So I got to researching.

In order to figure out what works for you, you have to figure out who you are. I know that I am a kinesthetic learner, meaning I have to do an action in order to learn the material or skill.  I am also a visual learner as well, meaning I have to see visuals in order to learn. So what did I do with that information? I combined these two learning styles.

To Do, Doing, Done

This board is called the Kanban. By planning what I have to ahead of time, I can make post-it notes and place them on the to-do list. As I take on a new task, I move the post-it note to the doing section. The trick is to keep only 3 things max I’m doing at a time. It teaches me to prioritize my tasks and not become overwhelmed. Once I am done with a task, I move the post it to done. The key here is that I can physically see what I need to work on and I love the idea of being able to move the post it to where it needs to go. It’s like crossing something off my list but better. Put this where you can see it so you are always motivated to move this post-it notes to the DONE pile.

Make That Progress!

This has to be my favorite tool to track my progress over time. I had 3 goals I want to accomplish. To have a more consistent hair routine by washing my hair every other week, meal prepping any time I get groceries and working out 3x a week. This check-off chart was so good. I made it myself. But lucky for you, you won’t have to, I have created an awesome printable tracker! (To download, just sign up for the newsletter!!)  It helped me become more disciplined because it allowed me to physically see my progress and have the urge to check off as many boxes as possible. Each task is color coated, but once the highlighters began to disappear. I just looked for the X’s. I would suggest stickers or markers, to make your mark of choice. This is really beneficial if it’s on your fridge or somewhere that you see no matter where you turn. You have the flexibility to organize this however you want and state your goal(s) and watch the progress happen!

Trello Yo

Trello Yellow Bubellow or just @Trelloapp. Yoooooo, this has been a lifesaver. This tool right here though! The reason I love Trello is that you can basically dump your whole thought process on screen. From your ideas to the steps to establish your ideas, to your progress and anything else you can imagine. it is all up to you on how you want to design it. On mine, I have a setup similar to the kanban board, but I also include tasks for the week, whats next, accomplishments, things I need to do but are not urgent, my goals, newsletter ideas and wins! Everything is in my face all at once, this is key for me. As long as I plan ahead, I don’t need to wonder what is next, It’s all in front of me. I don’t need to keep looking at my notebook to see what my goals are, they are all right in front of me! Whether on my phone or computer screen. You can add visuals as well. Plus you can move the information however you want to. This is the main tool I use to organize the content for the plannter, my tasks for the week, recipes, my vision board and even the clothes I want to buy. Don’t sleep on trello. Look, I am trying to put you on. There is something here for everyone. if you still need to write things down like I do still but you can’t fully switch to digital, then use the Kanban method and progress tracker. Or if you need both digital and paper just like me, use all three or see what works for you. The important thing I learned here is to explore. Don’t be afraid to take your time and explore what’s for you. Don’t waste your time trying to rush and keep doing the same thing over and over again, which I have done for so long. Slow down, explore your options, give yourself real time and do the work!
