Hay Friend!

Let’s explore what it looks like to be whole and some practical steps we can do today to get us on the journey. Let’s disrupt patterns, think of new habits, renew our minds and live a life full life and life more abundantly. These are some things I have been doing. As Michael Todd says, I am not a perfect man, but a progressing one.

Some notes from this episode:

Devices of the enemy: Cycles (especially in relationships)

  • The idolization of relationships, abuse, warp the importance of a relationship
  • Get into a relationship too early and experiencing sexual intimacy too early
  • Not understanding the purpose of something leads to abuse
  • Then leads to teaching that abuse to others, ex: children
  • Being honest with yourself: Understanding what is abnormal in your life
  • Origin: Identifying patterns in your life and family’s life.
  • Be open to what God thinks about these things. You can do this by the word of God

-Renewing of your mind. Taking yourself out the matrix

-Romans 12: 1-2

A Living Sacrifice

12 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

How to renew your mind:

  • Combat through prayer and read the word of God to establish the truth. You can find plans/ devotionals on the bible app
  • Look up youtube videos based on what you are trying to re-learn
  • When opportunities present themselves for you to practice what you have learned, take them. Ex: if you struggle with anger, and someone makes you angry, what does the bible say about how to handle anger.

Proverbs 16:32

He who is slow to anger is better than a warrior, and he who controls his temper is greater than one who captures a city.

James 1:19

My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry,

(Use these verses to pray and fill you up)

-Partnering with God: You have to partner with God for your healing and your journey to becoming whole. Prayer is one part, but action (work)  is required on your part.

James 2:14-22

14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? 17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

22 Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made [d]perfect?

  • Guard your heart cuzz
  • Go out and get help– Therapy, get into a community, go and get help from those you want to be like (mentorship)

Understanding that God wants you to prosper because he loves you. He did not promote the ill that was done to you.
