Hay Friend,

By the title I know what you’re thinking. I’m going to talk about who you should surround yourself with in regards to friends. Trust me, we will talk about that, but this I think needs to be handled.. immediately. Bad company= corrupt teaching.

Ruining the Upcoming Generation

What does the bible say about false teaching? So much but well only pick a few. Romans 16:17 says:

17 And now I make one more appeal, my dear brothers and sisters. Watch out for people who cause divisions and upset people’s faith by teaching things contrary to what you have been taught. Stay away from them.

2 Peter 2:1-2 says:

But there were also false prophets in Israel, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will cleverly teach destructive heresies and even deny the Master who bought them. In this way, they will bring sudden destruction on themselves. Many will follow their evil teaching and shameful immorality. And because of these teachers, the way of truth will be slandered.

Why quote these scripture? For us to understand that there are many liars out there. Many people whom claim to know Christ but are actually destroying the body. In there attempt to spread false teachings that have nothing to do with the true love of God, sadly, people’s faith are being destroyed and people are running away from God.

False teaching really starts in Sunday school with the children. Children are so impressionable. They remember every little thing you teach them. I was a child not that long ago. I remember lessons I was taught about morality, life, God etc. as far back as I can remember.  Therefore, YOU NEED TO SEE WHO IS TEACHING YOUR CHILDREN in church. Parent’s you too need to be setting the proper example of God’s teaching in your homes. Your kids are watching.

The issue is, when a false teacher, or you the parent teaches your child about Jesus. It won’t leave the child. The child will grow with these ideas of Christ that are untrue. Example, teaching about God, convincing them as if he is a genie in the bottle and that anything they wish for, God will just give them because that’s how he shows “love”. Teaching children that any little mistake they commit, they will be condemned to hell.  Teaching children that God is so far away and to know him is not attainable, he only access certain people.

Telling children to do one thing in the home because the bible says, but you are doing something completely different. Examples. Telling your son(s) to take be leaders and take care of their homes, but you as the leader is cheating or beating your wife. Belting God use me use me in church for everyone to hear, but using that same mouth to shower curses on their lives for making mistakes.

The list goes on but these have damaging effects. Children grow up. They take these teaching, try to live them out in their lives, but what they’ve been taught isn’t lining up. They pray, pray, pray for stuff, God doesn’t  grant their wish, they feel God doesn’t really exist. Or a person becomes tired of putting up a facade and over the top standard of being so “holy” they just leave faith all together.

So many people I’ve come to know have left christianity because of what they were taught did not add up to real life. One can say that it’s their responsibility to find God for themselves, which is true. I say that too. However, we as a body need to be accountable for our actions. We are our brother’s keeper.

One bad apple, can really deter many from Christ and it’s a problem. I tell you, the devil tries to catch us young, False seeds have been planted since we were young. We as true believers that know the POWER and LOVE of God really need to be proactive in making sure leaders, especially of children are being spirit lead. We have a part to play because people are leaving like drones.

Pastors Check Your Leaders

If you are a true man or woman of God, and God has given you the gift to shepherd his flock, he will also grant you the wisdom to pick your leaders. Not all people who smile are of God. Because Mr. Johnson gives mad money during tithes and offering does not make him fit to be a deacon. Ms. Anna may sing great, but her jealous and gossiping spirit may disqualify her from being the choirmaster.

We need to open our eyes. Some people who are in charge of major operations in church are the same people leaving the church to be spiritually dead. If the incorrect people are leading, that can have a major effect on members. If leaders are spiritually dead, and members are spiritually dead, frankly my dear, your church is dead.

God is a God who can restore all dead things. Son of man, can these dry bones live? God you know best. And we know that yes they can! However, it’s not that God doesn’t want them to live; he just can’t bless something that he took no part of. If he did not take part in choosing the people that are leading many ministries in your church, it will be dead. My friend always says for her ministry, she would rather have 4 quarters than 1000 pennies. As pastors, I feel the same concept should be applied.

Members Check Who Is Pastoring You

1 Thessalonians 5:19-22 says:

19 Do not stifle the Holy Spirit. 20 Do not scoff at prophecies, 21 but test everything that is said. Hold on to what is good. 22 Stay away from every kind of evil.

We must learn to test things in the spirit. We must not always take everything for face value. If something doesn’t sound right, don’t just agree to save face. Go check out the scripture yourself. Pray to God about what was said and if it’s true. Talk to others you trust.

We as members need to be proactive in our church meetings. I never just read what someone says only. I read a couple verses (2-3) above the verse given and sometimes below so I can get the full context. People are really shady and like to take one verse and completely use that to make a point. However, for me to agree, I must get full context of what is being said before that verse so I have a better understanding. Then if someone twisting the meaning, I’ll know.

Church should not be endured but enjoyed. If you feel your leaders are not preaching what is in accordance to the Holy Spirit, then its best to move on. I’m telling you, I see it all the time. False teaching really messes up people in the future. Especially for those of us who are still new to faith, young or in need of building it. If people are offering you houses, cars, a prayer shawl for $19.99, it’s best you get to moving.

You have the same access to God as much as any pastor, preacher, prophet etc. YOU DO. Never forget that. The idea of a middle man to get to God does not come with this covenant. It’s free access for everyone, if you want it.

We Need Love and Support

I urge you to pray for those who are lost. People are hurting out here. They have been mislead, mistreated, they feel God did not show up when he needed them. The church is supposed to be a place filled with life, yet people have left it feeling dead, and believing this God that so many serve does not care for them at all.

I pray anyone reading this who has been afflicted by false teaching, God make himself plain to you. In a way you will only understand. I pray he breathes into you the life only he can provide. He touches you and surrounds you with people who truly know him. God is not fake, he is as real as it gets. I pray you know the real Jesus, not all these fakes. Until next time,

Bye Friend!
