Obedience is God’s love language. It’s the key to showing him that you actually do love and care about him. I’ve understood that when I ’m obedient to what he’s telling me to do, he is more inclined to answer and move on my behalf.

How to Have An Obedient Heart

So how do we become obedient? The answer is this, remain in him. We read that in the bible, but it may not be clear on exactly what that is. I think by building your relationship with God, an intimate and personal one, you accomplish this.

One way this can be done by reading his word. READ YOUR BIBLE! Get a Bible translation that you can understand, pick a devotional or subject and get to reading! This right here tho… this is a major key as to why I can be so bold about my faith and know what God is telling me to do. I take the time to read. I truly believe the bible is a living word. You can read a verse today and get one understanding, and then a week later, the same verse can mean something completely different.

I enjoy taking notes as I read and breaking down verses that stick out to me. I write down all my thoughts, even if it has “nothing” to do with what I’m reading. Revelation can be found in those moments, every thought counts. As you begin to take your time to read, you will understand God’s character so much more and see what he expects from you. As you read your word, your mind becomes transformed and you are willing to be a part of his plans.

Where Is Your Heart?

Sometimes (a lot of times), being obedient can be a challenging task. God will ask you to do things that to the human eye and our nature, makes no type of sense. I’m sure you can think of some things. However, as I continue to grow in my walk,  I have to understand that God tells me to do things because he loves me, he wants the best for me and he wants me to be a part of his mission. His rescue mission. To reconcile his people back to him.

I think it’s cool that he uses our gifts, interests, and talents to do that. It’s interesting that what he tells me to do for his benefit, is, in turn, my own benefit! I can neva loose watchu thought! All of this is so I become more like him and share his love on earth. He knows what my heart desires. He knows what I really want too! He can give me those things, but he needs to see where my heart is and if I’m about him or not.

We will go through constant tests in this life and they are designed to get us aligned back to him. To remove impurities, false ideas, perversion, and normalized dysfunction. So, there’s always going to be changed. Leveling up, moving here and there, never getting too comfortable. The change is for our good,  it’s about getting comfortable with the change and knowing it all will work out for our good.

He Wants the Best For You

You may be thinking all that change talk isn’t cute. How could I handle that? I want you to understand something. God has given a gift no man on this earth can bring. Which is peace. A peace that truly does surpass all understanding. I have experienced this peace in times of serious chaos, so believe me when I tell you, its real. The Holy Spirit is with us always.  Even as I write, the Holy Spirit is working through me and doing something in my heart as I allow my thoughts to come and go, and put it all on paper. It’s comforting.

As I walk in obedience, I am showing God, I love you. It’s No lip service, but real talk. Fully submitted, showing true worship.   He can call me trustworthy and trust me with his secrets. He can speak to me and I hear him more clearly. Jesus set the example. He obeyed God and taught us how to love people and himself. We can follow his example because he can relate to us and we to him. He was human plus God. So we follow his example. This is secret to getting what we want. What I want for my life is what he wants for me as well. All that I’m looking for he can exceed it, but he’s looking for an obedient heart.
